Hunter Douglas Discontinues Cords on Blind Systems for Enhanced Child Safety

June 28, 2024 – [Canton, OH]—Stocks Draperies, a leading provider of premium window treatments in Canton, Ohio, announces that it will support Hunter Douglas, a renowned name in window fashion, in discontinuing the production and repair of corded blind systems. This significant change is part of an ongoing commitment to enhance child safety and promote modern, hazard-free living environments.

Hunter Douglas has decided to phase out all corded blinds and shades in response to growing child safety concerns and regulatory developments. Cords on window treatments have long been identified as potential hazards for children and pets, posing risks of entanglement and strangulation. Effective immediately, Hunter Douglas will:

Cease Production of Corded Blinds: No new corded blind systems will be manufactured, ensuring all future products meet the highest safety standards.

Discontinue Repairs of Existing Corded Blinds: Repair services for corded blinds will also be discontinued to reinforce this commitment. Customers are encouraged to transition to safer, cordless alternatives.
